As Designated Legal Counsel, Sayler will provide trusted legal representation to SMART-TD members injured on the job, ensuring they receive the full protections afforded under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA).
Sayler has built a national reputation for his tireless advocacy and record-setting recoveries in FELA cases. Having successfully litigated railroad injury cases in more than 30 states, he has been instrumental in holding railroads accountable for unsafe working conditions. His courtroom victories include securing some of the largest legal sanctions ever imposed on railroads for discovery misconduct and evidence destruction, including a $5.8 million sanction award in Kowalewski v. BNSF following a $15.3 million verdict, as well as another recent $6.5 million verdict against BNSF.

He has authored amicus briefs in landmark FELA cases before the United States Supreme Court, contributing to decisions that shape the future of railroad worker protections.
